Safeguarding Statement & Policy

Great Doddington Primary School is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all children in school.  All Northamptonshire schools, including Great Doddington Primary School, follow the Northamptonshire Local Safeguarding Children Board Inter-Agency Procedures. The school will, in most circumstances, endeavour to discuss all concerns with parents about their child/ren. However, there may be exceptional circumstances when the school will discuss concerns with Social Care and/or the Police without parental knowledge (in accordance with Child Protection procedures). The school will, of course, always aim to maintain a positive relationship with all parents. The school’s child protection policy is available on request.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

Miss R Shelton is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs) are Mrs Garnham, Mrs Rodwell, Mrs McGregor, Mrs Winrow and Mrs Kilsby.

The Governor for Safeguarding is Mr R Ward.

Any member of our immediate and wider school community (e.g. staff, parents, relatives, friends, club facilitators) who has a concern about the safety or well-being of a child has a responsibility to do something. If you have any concerns please ring Northamptonshire's Safeguarding Team on 01604 362993, or Northamptonshire Police on 101.

Please help us keep our children safe.
